Brain Power Without the Homework: Discover OLLI at Texas Tech Highland Lakes

August 12, 2026

We caught up with Penny Richards (Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Texas Tech University) and local leadership volunteer Linda Baker to explore one of the best intellectual and social programs in the Hill Country: OLLI at TTU Highland Lakes!

Designed specifically for adults aged 50 or “better,” OLLI offers short-term, non-credit courses right here in Marble Falls. The best part? There are no tests, no grades, and no papers—just pure enjoyment, lively discussions, and the opportunity to make new friends who share your curiosity.

What You Can Expect:

  • Diverse Course Lineup: Everything from Texas history and environmental science to photography, art, literature, cooking, and local field trips.
  • Affordable Membership: Annual Hill Country OLLI membership is just $30, giving you priority registration and discounted course pricing.
  • Bonus Access: As a member, you can attend in-person classes at the Highland Lakes campus (806 Steve Hawkins Pkwy, Marble Falls) as well as virtual classes hosted across all Texas Tech OLLI campuses!
