St. Peter’s hosts Rise Against Hunger and Blessings Fest

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is taking on hunger globally and locally this October with two major community events. Lynn Carlson and Dennis Reed from St. Peter’s stopped by the morning show to invite listeners to help support Rise Against Hunger and Blessings Fest by volunteering or by enjoying a sausage dinner which supports food for students right here in Marble Falls ISD.

1. Rise Against Hunger (Meal Packing Event)

Help package 20,000 nutrient-rich meals in just two hours! Rise Against Hunger is an international non-profit that distributes food to undernourished populations worldwide.

• When: Sunday, October 4, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Where: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall (1803 Hwy 1431, Marble Falls)
• Who Can Help: Anyone age 4 to 90+! Tasks are available for all mobility levels (sitting or standing).
• Registration: Free to participate, but volunteers are asked to sign up in advance online.

2. Blessings Fest (St. Peter’s Blessings Fundraiser)

For over 16 years, “St. Peter’s Blessings” has supplied weekend meal kits to local students who face food insecurity at home. Last year the ministry provided over 7,000 meals to Marble Falls ISD kids. To fund the program the church is hosting its annual “Blessings Fest” dinner.

• When: Thursday, October 8, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Where: Lakeside Pavilion (307 Buena Vista Dr, Marble Falls)
• Features: A delicious traditional German sausage dinner, a silent auction (featuring items ranging from potted plants to trips/excursions), and family-friendly entertainment from Dwayne Hill, a comedian magician who has appeared on America’s Got Talent!

  • Adult Pre-Sale: $30 (available through October 1st)
  • Adults at the Door: $35
  • Youth (Ages 6–12): $20
  • Kids (Under 6): Free!
