Bark at the Art – Highland Lakes Canine Rescue

No black tie needed for the Highland Lakes Canine Rescue Bark at The Art gala on November 5, 2026. Michaela Black and Jeannette Murphy with HLCR and T.J. the dog were in the KBEY studio to talk about the shelter and the gala. Bark at the Art includes dinner, games, silent and live auctions loaded with fantastic items, and an evening of fun for a great, furry cause.

HLCR has been sheltering dogs in the Highland Lakes for around twenty years. What’s really special about HLCR is they take special and critical cases from other shelters and animal control facilities. While at HLCR, the dogs get the treatment they need, are cared for while they recover, and then live at the shelter until they are adopted.

The shelter gets the funds to do what they do from several annual fundraisers such as Bark at the Art. HLCR is currently in the process of building a critical care unit and is currently focusing fundraising efforts for this cause.

Bark at the Art is Thursday, November 5 from 6-9:30 p.m. at Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls. Tickets are available at the HLCR website. Listen to the interview for more details and to hear T.J.’s story and his good news!
